Connecting artists to Indiana County

Spruce Arts is an art residency program based in Indiana County in western Pennsylvania. Harley is the founding director of the organization that has brought dozens of artists to temporarily live and work in Indiana County. Born and raised in Indiana, PA, Harley’s love of her hometown and enthusiasm for the community led to a natural push to share it with artists and creatives from around the world.

Spruce Art Residency’s primary aim is to provide artists with dedicated time for creative work. The residency session also offers the potential for opportunities that include a solo exhibition, public art installations, weekly critiques with fellow artists, community workshops, and artist talks.

Since its founding in 2019, Spruce Arts has hosted 35 artists and several exhibitions, artist talks, and workshops. In October 2020, Spruce Arts partnered with Dripped on the Road to install fourteen murals in downtown Indiana, PA. Spruce Arts continues to be an advocate and supportive collaborating organization on a number of efforts to bolster the creative community of Indiana County.
