Homicide

In 2015, there were 108 homicides in the city of Pittsburgh. These photographs, taken with a large-format view camera using 4x5 black and white film, bear witness to the spaces left behind. By documenting the locations of these violent acts, the work explores the hidden memory of a landscape and how the site of trauma eventually softens and perhaps even fades into a withered, beautiful, and indifferent environment.

Below are the scans of the large format film negatives. These photographs were originally printed as silver gelatin darkroom prints.
